
Hello, I'm Dr Emma-Leigh Senyard
Emma-Leigh is a Clinical Psychologist with a PhD with over a decade's experience in private practice, community health & GP clinics, university settings and occupational rehabilitation. Emma-Leigh has extensive experience working across the lifespan with young children through to older age populations. Most of her career has been spent with children, adolescents and parents, in the areas of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit-Hyperactivity-Disorder (ADHD), cognitive learning (IQ and learning disorder) assessments, anxiety and behaviour management.
In the past several years, Emma-Leigh have shifted to working predominately with adults (and adolescents 14+) in the areas of nervous system regulation, generational trauma, general psychological well-being and mental health prevention, and energy/transpersonal (spiritual) psychology (ETF tapping, meditation etc).
Background
Emma-Leigh has been practising as a psychologist since 2015, where she first began her career in Occupational Rehabilitation. Here, she was responsible for assisting those injured in the workplace, return to work, as well as the prevention of mental health and psychosocial hazards in the workplace. Emma-Leigh led and run stress management workshops for the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) during this time at IPAR Rehabilitation. From here, Emma-Leigh moved into private practice, GP and multi-disciplinary clinics (working alongside speech pathologists and occupational therapists) where she worked with clients across the lifespan treating a range of concerns including general psychological wellbeing and prevention, ASD, ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma and behaviour management (parenting and stakeholder involvement often). Emma-Leigh has also been a private PsyBa Supervisor since 2020 and thoroughly enjoys fostering and developing the skills of developing psychologists.
Emma-Leigh has also worked in academic settings alongside private practice since 2018, in both casual and permanent positions providing teaching, supervision, research, course coordination and marking across Master of Clinical Psychology, Master of Professional Psychology and Psychology Honours programs. In her role as a Lecturer at the University of Southern Queensland, Emma-Leigh course coordinated and taught a number of Masters programs including Comprehensive Psychological Assessment, Advanced Clinical Interventions and Advanced Psychopathology. Emma-Leigh thoroughly enjoys teaching and supervision.
